Here's a brief synopsis of what has occurred in my life over the past few weeks:

 

Boise - Yup. I was in Boise, Idaho, during the Native American/American Indian/Columbus Day weekend. Why? To attend the wedding of Lynae, to visit MoSus and to avoid Baton Rouge during the LSU-Florida game chaos.

 

Book Festival - Attended the Louisiana Book Festival the weekend after the Boise trip. Enjoyed buying a few Louisiana inspired books, listening to the Symphony play music inspired by famous books that was featured in movies on the front steps of the Capital Building, and then a delcious Louisiana meal indoors (it was an oddly windy day). Also, spent some more money at B&N after all of this. Must keep Mom employed afterall.

 

Zombies - Are so the new vampire. I loved Zombieland. Just need to pick up some of Max Brooks'  books now to complement that new addiction.

 

Husker Football - Luckily a lot of the Huskers games have been televised in Baton Rouge this year. Unfortunately, I did watch the Iowa State game that caused me to use a lot more of my sailor-inspired vocabulary than I had thought necessary. Thankfully, the Blackshirts seem to be rallying around Bo and the season has been a lot more enjoyable since the Cyclones were in Lincoln.

 

Apartment Cleaning - I finally got around to donating a lot of stuff to a co-worker who has an annual rummage sale to support an orphanage in China. The really good part of this was that I donated an entire pickup bed full of stuff. The interesting part of this - I still don't have any extra room in my apartment. I think I might work on fixing that problem some more this weekend.

 

Ferret - Ivan seems to be toying with my heart. One day he is playful and his normal self. The next day he doesn't move at all unless forced to by me. The vet says he's not in pain, he's just slowing down. Let's just say that I take a deep breath every time I open the front door of the apartment. I'm just not sure what may be waiting for me on the other side.

 

SD - I will be back in SD beginning December 19 until January 2. Let me know if you want to do something.
