Nothing much to report

Although many people would argue that my life has been nothing but overly exciting and ambitious for a long, long time, it is kind of disheartening to look back and realize that it's been a really, really long time since I've had anything of interest to blog about.

Yup.

I have come to the realization that I'm just not that exciting. Probably never have been too exciting, but at least I used to have stuff to talk about. Stuff that I had done/completed. Stuff that I had planned.

I had ambitions. Goals. Deep thoughts.

And now?

I have a routine. A very simple to follow routine.

Monday - Friday
5:30 AM - Alarm goes off
Sometime between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM - Shower and get ready
Sometime between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM - Catch the bus
8:00 AM - Arrive at office, check voicemail/email, update spreadsheets
Sometime between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM - Get coffee at Starbucks
Until 11:45 AM - Meetings, projects, work
11:45 AM - Lunch
1:15 PM - Meetings, projects, work
4:20 PM - Prepare to leave work
Sometime between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM - Catch bus home
5:05 PM - Arrive home
Remainder of night - Talk to sister on phone, ferret chores, supper, tv, Brain Age 1&2, read, cross-stitch, etc.

Saturday & Sunday
Pretty much the same as above, just replace work with housework. On Sundays, I get the paper and clip coupons.

Once and awhile there's a deviation from this schedule, but not often. <Sigh>

The real reason that I just <sigh>ed, honestly, is that I quite enjoy being a bit boring. I deal with so much drama at work that it's a relief to know that I have some kind of routine. Something that I can control. Yet, I do understand that it does make me a bit boring. Maybe too boring to blog anymore.

We shall see if I get more ambitious in the next few days or not.

In other Me news:
  • I'll be home (SD) from July 1-10. I fly back to BR really, really early on July 11.
  • Finished watching season 1 of True Blood. It was quite good. Honestly debating whether or not I need to get extended cable to see the new season that begins in 2 weeks.
  • Enjoyed being rather busy at work for the past 2 weeks. My student staff for the summer rocks, and it is nice having people in the building other than me.
  • Hung out with co-workers past & present last week when PV came back for a visit.
  • Have a plan for getting back to healthier living soon. This time I mean it. For reals.

Highs & Lows

I am really not sure where the time has gone since I last blogged, but I have a feeling it is due to the end of the 2009-10 academic year.

Here are a few pros and cons that have happened in my life over the past few weeks:

Pros
  • Finished reading the first 8 books in the Southern Vampire series. Maybe now I should pick up the first season of True Blood on DVD.
  • Successfully finished out the academic year with only 3 students not attending meetings from late April/early May.
  • Smiled as my sister found a new apartment and began realizing that she's too old to be living with our parents anymore.
  • Rediscovered my love for TV shows that will not be back for the fall 2009 television season: Samantha Who?, The Unusuals...yup, my tastes tend to run the opposite of the rest of the television-viewing public.
  • Found a great staff of student workers for the summer. They rock my socks off!
Cons
  • So tired from being so busy at work. Not that I mind being employed and/or being busy. Just not used to being productive and busy.
  • Majorly homesick. Good thing I'll be back in SD in about 6 weeks (July 1-10!).
  • Lack of sleep. I am in serious need of some sleep...hopefully, I'll get some tonight!
