How are you today?

Overall, pretty nifty. A little tired from staying up later than usual finishing New Moon, but other than that anxious for a slightly longer weekend. Open-mouthed

Soup
Name 3 television shows you watch on a regular basis.

  1. The Simpsons
  2. The Office
  3. Family Guy

Salad
What’s the scariest weather situation you’ve experienced?

The aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina & Rita. As I have stated many times before, I don't really know how to explain that time period to people who did not personally experience it.

Main Course
If you could wake up tomorrow morning in another country, where would you want to be?

Norway. It's about time I start learning about my heritage.

Dessert
What do you usually wear to sleep?

I so want to go dirty with my response, but actually I usually wear an old t-shirt and shorts.

5 minutes to spare

As I literally have only 5 minutes until my next meeting, today's entry is going to be brief.

No lists.

No quotes.

No complaining.

Just a brief blog entry to state that I suck at Scrabble.

In case you doubt my statement, ask Becky.

Thanks. And have a great day.

Too busy to appreciate the fact that I'm busy

Honestly.

It has been one of those weeks.

And for those of you that are familiar with my line of work, you know that the entire month of September is a cluster of 'one of those weeks'. Yet. Every year I forget this fact. And eventually hit the wall of stress with blinders on.

Once I have recovered from the shock of absorbing the wall with my face, I drowsily realize that I am now surrounded by piles of paper that either need to be shredded, copied, filed, forwarded, mailed, moved around, ignored, made into airplanes...

After numerous paper cuts, paper jams, folder fiascos and curse words, I then become aware of the blinking of unread, unanswered, unintelligible e-mails, voicemails, messages, IMs, texts, smoke signals...

After conquering the message pile, I then find myself immersed in yet another pile of paper...NoteMay the circle, be unbroken...Note

Honestly.

This blog entry is not meant to be a complaint.

I enjoy the fact that I am being utilized at work. That I feel useful. That I have very little time to contemplate the meaning of life while spending money at the bookstore (although, as mentioned yesterday I did splurge on a couple books...stress kills my pocketbook).

It's just the aftermath of the busy-ness that annoys me.

I am slightly OCD, so leaving piles untouched for hours or even days on end bothers me that it affects my dreams. (Totally messed up as of late.) And beyond that, my office(s) currently look as though a paper fairy decided to attack me for reasons unknown to me. (Fairies tend to be vindictive when ignored. How do I know? I watch The Fairly Oddparents with a regularity that most older people would envy.)

So, as I have realized that I could be eliminating said piles by acknowledging them more in person than in blogland, I should probably do just that. Work. Although I do have a meeting in about 10 minutes, so maybe I'll just dink around for a bit.

Woot. Procrastination.

Things that make me smile

As I finally have a few moments to myself, I will delight you with a quick list. (As I really should be filing, but that can wait til tomorrow.)

Things that make Me  Open-mouthed

  • Bargain books at Barnes & Noble. (Totally scored a hard cover copy of Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris for $5.)
  • Strawberry Milkshake Oreos.
  • Husker football. (Even though the last two games have caused me to wonder if we have any defense, but oh well...)
  • Fraggle Rock, Season 3 DVD. (Just because.)
  • Fridays.
  • Pandora radio. (Accuradio has been cast aside like last year's shoes.)

What is your favorite type of art?

Wow. It really depends on my mood. But, I guess overall I'm a big pop art fanatic. Not too shocking, I'm sure, with my love of all things Henson, Dr. Suess, and Warhol. Although, when in a museum or art show, I tend to love most things presented to me. Abstract is sometimes just that to me, though.

Soup
When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?

A week ago Thursday. Rosemary took me out for a late birthday lunch.

About 10 minutes per hour that I'm on the computer. So, about 80 minutes-ish.

Klutziness strikes again

For those of you that know me in the real world, I am known for my ability to trip over my own feet. On totally level ground. Without any real reason to fall.

Hence my sister's lovely nickname for me that insinuated that I was indeed a klutz. (Not totally unfounded reasoning on her part, believe me.)

Yesterday ended my good luck streak of almost a year. Yup. I fell. For really no reason what-so-ever. I didn't hurt myself much. Just scraped my chin and both knees. My pride was really the only part of me that was truly harmed. (Oh, and a pair of dress pants.) Lucky for me, my two lunch companions didn't giggle openly about my fall. At least when I was around.

So, in the spirit of my inability to walk, I figured today's list would be a collection of my 5 most embarassing klutz-esque moments.

Enjoy!
  1. Tumbled down the bleachers in my high school gym during the "Star Spangled Banner" before a basketball game while still an awkward teenager.
  2. Slipped and fell in the middle of the street in Minneapolis, while leading a pack of graduate students I just met at a national conference.
  3. Ran into the side of the building where my first office was located at LSU. Why? Because I was trying to avoid stepping on a cockroach.
  4. While celebrating my 22nd birthday, I decided that in order to avoid tripping over my own shadow again, I needed to use the side of my apartment building to guide me home. (And keep me upright.)
  5. Slipped numerous times on the ice while walking to and from my apartment to work during my first year of grad school at UNL. So many times, that my friends that worked in Campus Recreation kept a running total. As that was the location where I tended to fall.

Resolutions Schmesolutions

As it has been awhile, I realized that it probably would do a body good (Geaux milk!) to revisit my 2007 resolutions and give a 2/3 of the way through update.

This could prove to be depressing.

In a blog entry in January,  I made the following resolutions:

1.    Read at least one book per week. (Of these books, at least 5 should be categorized as 'classics' by either a library or bn.com.)

2.    Exercise 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes.

3.    Send 'real' (aka 'non-electronic') cards to friends and families for special occasions.

4.    Mend fences.

5.    Bring my lunch to work 3 times a week.

Books - I have made this resolution my bitch. How? Well, just look to the right-hand side of this blog and look at the list of books read in 2007. As of September 19, 2007, I have read 68 books. 9 of which are considered 'classics.' (I plan on reading at least 3 more classics to makes it a nice year-esque number.) Also, I have read books by 41 new-to-me authors. Discovering along the way that I completely adore the writings of Jasper Fforde, Jonathan Tropper, Christopher Moore and Rob Sheffield. I have also discovered that I quite enjoy reading books in series: Nursery Crime series, Thursday Next series, Harry Potter series (big surprise, I know), Series of Unfortunate Events series (redundancy is cool), and now the Twilight series. Honestly, I could almost be considered a lemming when it comes to following the book blog crowd in what I enjoy reading.

Exercise - Ummm...yeah...I truly need to work on this. I'm sure the reason that I'm still enjoying the effects of my 'cold' is due to my unhealthy habits as of late. Me: On a Diet needs to commence soon.

Cards - I have the postage receipts to show that I'm rocking this beast. Snail mail rocks!

Fences - Mostly repaired. Oddly enough, many were repaired after there was some distance.

Lunch - See exercise above.

So, overall, I'm doing swimmingly. Now, if I could just convince myself to swim from time to time, life would be grand.

Good thing I'm not the betting type

Or else I would be out of a lot of money due to my really, really poor ability to pick a winner (any winner) over the weekend.

For example, I was 3-for-10 in my college pick'em selections.

(No comments about Saturday night's game, please. I'm still trying to figure out if it was real or if it was a cold medicine induced nightmare.)

And, then, there's the Emmy's. Honestly, I enjoyed the fact that almost none of the 'experts' were correct in their predictions, but still...wow! Apparently the voters were still a bit miffed about The Sopranos finale. (Although I did Red heart The Family Guy opening number!)

I guess, when you are right so often, that it should be expected that you have an off weekend once and awhile, huh? Wink

Other than being just downright wrong about most things over the weekend, here's what I managed to accomplish:

  1. Slept. I mean in 12 to 14 hour increments. And guess what? I am almost 100% healthier than I was on Friday.
  2. Finished reading The Well of Lost Plots. I'm taking a Fforde break for a bit. Mainly due to the fact that the 4th book in his series is not available for me to horde at the moment. Darn you bookstore! Have decided to jump on the Meyer bancwagon by starting Twilight. Which I'm quite enjoying. I'm such a lemming.
  3. Enjoyed watching College Gameday from afar. The Husker Nation was impressive, as usual. Plus the fact that two of my good friends were there, and I tried to see them...but I didn't. Sigh.
  4. Ignored mean texts from non-Husker fans. C'mon. No one should like USC enough to taunt any other team. Honestly. They are quite evil.
  5. Talked on the phone a lot. Twas good getting caught up with my Midwestern peeps.

Admitting I'm sick

Yup.

It's official.

I can no longer hide behind the usual excuses. I am sick.

I think it's just a cold, but I really should be at home doing one of the following wonderful options rather than being at work:
  1. Reading a good book/Finishing The Well of Lost Plots.
  2. Watching the progress of Humberto on The Weather Channel.
  3. Sleeping.
  4. Drinking hot beverages, such as cocoa and tea.
  5. Resting, so that I can enjoy the weekend.

But, alas, I am in the middle of my busy season at work, and as the only person in a one-person office, taking a sick day is almost a pipe dream.

So today's list of 13 will be a list of excuses I have made to myself while denying that I may indeed be ill:
  1. "I just haven't been sleeping well lately."
  2. "My sinuses hate me."
  3. "Darn pollen/mold count!"
  4. "It's nothing. I just stared at the sun yesterday and the sneezing just caught up to me."
  5. "I just bought stock in Kleenex."
  6. "I've always wondered what would happen if I mixed my allergy medicine with two doses of Airborne."
  7. "I'm acting."
  8. "I caught whatever they showed on Discovery Health last night."
  9. "I'm allergic to meetings/work."
  10. "You smell bad."
  11. "Who coughed?"
  12. "Once you finish said project, you'll feel better."
  13. "It's just stress."

Have I mentioned that I don't like making copies?

Yup. I'm still avoiding the copier like it's the plague and/or a North Dakota quarter.

As I am in a random mood (shocking, I know), I will just do a list today. (Honestly, people should start setting their watches in regards to my predictability.)

  1. When I stress, I buy books. Yesterday's purchase, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.
  2. I chose to buy that book due to the fact that the bookstore didn't have this book, Something Rotten by Jasper Fforde.
  3. I mean, honestly, how I am to maintain my OCD-ness without reading all 5 books in the Thursday Next series without that book on hand? (They did have Thursday Next: First Among Sequels, but I chose not to pick that up...yet.)
  4. Wanna make a bet on when I will pick up the other two books in the Twilight series? The bookstore had both of them on hand. Does it matter that I haven't read any of them yet? So what if there's a chance I won't like them? It is part of my hoarding nature to collect them all.
  5. Other books that may be purchased yet this week include: Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story by Christopher Moore, The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Pond by Christopher Moore, Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann, Lulu Meets God and Doubts Him by Danielle Ganek, The Chess Machine by Robert Lohr, Among Other Things, I've Taken Up Smoking by Aoibheann Sweeney, White Teeth by Zadie Smith. (List subject to change depending on mood, time of day and sales racks.)

Avoiding the copier

As I have discovered that I'm allergic to copying pieces of paper (not really, but wouldn't that be swell?), I have decided to avoid the break out (very similar to paper cuts) for a few minutes by participating in (yet) another meme. Really. You should know almost everything about Me by now. I'm not that complicated. Or interesting for that matter. Enjoy!

ACCENT: I really, really want to paint an accent wall in my lower office. It would make it more inviting. At least I think so.

DRINK: Water, at the moment. Need to be hydrated in this unforsakenly humid weather. Did have my morning skinny white mocha however.

CHORE I HATE: Cleaning the oven and/or vacuuming. Depends on the day.

PETS: 2 ferrets. That are quite lovely. And spoiled.

ESSENTIAL ELECTRONICS: Cell phone, tv/radio, lamp. That's about it. Although, if you want to give me an ipod, I wouldn't say no.

PERFUME: Disturbing book that I read earlier this year. Yet, I still want to see the movie.

GOLD OR SILVER: I will always choose silver. Even if it's Black Hills gold. I just like it better. Although, I do really want a grape leaf BH gold necklace. But what South Dakotan doesn't?

INSOMNIA: So last week.

JOB TITLE: About to change.

MOST ADMIRED TRAIT: I'm a good listener.

KIDS: See 'pets.'

UNUSUAL TALENT/SKILL: Bending my arms awkwardly at the shoulder that causes people to go 'weird'.

VEGETABLE: I like vegetables a lot. I don't eat enough of them (need to get back on Me:On a Diet), but who does?

FLOWER: Daisies, lilies & lilacs

WORST HABIT: Slightly OCD. I wash my hands a lot. Have to have books, cds and dvds in a particular order. Not as bad as Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets, but getting close.

X-RAYS: Freak me out.

FAVORITE MEAL: Petite sirloin cooked medium-rare with a baked potato & salad bar from The Monarch. Yumm-o!

PHOBIA: Too many to list. The stranges fears I have: squirrels, nail polish and mini-vans.

RELIGION: Lutheran, for the most part.

SIBLINGS: My darling sister in SD.

TIME I WAKE UP: 5am on weekdays with my alarm clock and somewhere between 6 and 7:30am on weekends without an alarm clock

5 Quick Things

And the non-list streak ends. Now. Sorry.

  1. FYI - The Macaroni Grill changed their menu yesterday.
  2. Today is my last meeting free day for the school year. I assume as much, at least.
  3. The Glade Intution isn't half bad. For a razor. That was free.
  4. I have entirely too many piles of paper in my life.
  5. My bedroom is now 100% Goodwill-donation-bag-in-waiting free! Woot!

Saturday, September 8, 2007

8:07 AM - Sad fact: I have to bribe myself into cleaning the oven. Today's bribe: A home 'manicure' thanks to the Satin Hands gift bag I receieved from Jacque.

8:29 - Should be reading instead of watching cartoons while waiting for the buzzer to signal it's scrubbin' time. Should be reading...but it's an episode of The Replacements that I've only seen 3 or 7 times. Again. TV wins out.

8:36 - 6 kids + 5 years of marriage = filing for divorce in celebrity-land. Not that shocking. But it seems to be a great story-line for a TLC special.

8:42 - I love the fact that ESPN is already predicting the Heisman trophy front-runners. In week 2 of play. Interesting. College Game Day is on our campus today (LSU), so I should make sure to watch. Not that I don't every week.

8:58 - Why am I nervous about cleaning the oven? Perhaps it's due to watching one too many episodes of CSI?

9:00 - The ferrets are seriously trying to dig their way to freedom. Alas, they will not be let out from the cage until the cleaning is done. Speaking of cleaning, I should be mopping the floors while I wait for the ding...

9:05 - This doesn't equate in my head: This is the first time in 3 years that LSU has played host to College Game Day?

9:10 - Small LSU crowd representing at Game Day. Kinda sad.

9:30 - Floors are clean. The debate over Notre Dame is getting kinda interesting on ESPN. Will they win more than 2 games this season? I find it disheartening how quickly the mighty football powerhouses can fall. Michigan - after one game. Notre Dame - after a bad season. Nebraska - after Southern Miss loss a few years ago. It should be interesting to see how the Huskers are treated during Game Day next week, when it's at Lincoln.

9:34 - I hate my allergies.

10:11 - Oven is clean. As am I. Now, I can truly enjoy the Husker game. GO BIG RED!

10:21 - Kinda feel the 'social' bug catching on. Yet, it's not strong enough to make me want to put on 'non-lounging-around-the-apartment' clothes. Feeling a little woozy, possibly due to one or more of the following:
  • Too much sugar intake - darn you Lucky Charms!
  • Too much cleaning - darn you chemicals!
  • Too much pollen/mold/allergen of some sort in the air - darn you Nature!
10:27 - I am craving Cane's hardcore. ESPN is melting on air due to humidity.

10:36 - I really should let the ferrets out. Really. I should. Maybe at half-time? Currently listening to the roar of the dishwasher. Honestly, it's a loud motha. Watching ESPN. Craving Cane's. Contemplating what to make for lunch.

10:41 - Hmmm...the University of Colorado's football team helps students move into residence halls. Note to self.

10:53 - ESPN has predicted that Nebraska and LSU will win today. Will be making some edamame soon for lunch.
Sunday, September 9, 2007

7:32 PM - Kinda hoping that Britney will continue her 'Trainwreck Tour 2007' on the VMAs tonight.

7:49 - Is Vegas really the place to be when you are trying to reinvent yourself while on probation? Really, Mama Paris. Yeah, she has soccer mom hair.

7:52 - The members of Panic! at the Disco are just now turning 21. Wow!

8:01 - And the trainwreck continues. It would seem that I have more rhthym and ability to lip synch than Britney. And that's just sad. The crowd looks like they are stuck in a bad infomercial for a 1990s where are they now compilation album.

8:04 - Sarah Silverman rocks!

8:12 - Am I too old appreciate the VMAs? I fear so.

8:15 - I would totally enjoy being a part of the Kanye vs 50 debacle.

8:19 - Why do the ferrets only make a ruckus when I am trying to concentrate on something like the phone or a tv program? And people wonder why I refer to them as my kids?

8:24 - JT rocks my socks! While accepting his award he calls out MTV to play more music. Remember when they used to be about the music?

8:37 - Lamest.award.show.ever. What I accomplished over the weekend:
  • Cleaned the oven.
  • Laundry.
  • Cut coupons from the paper. (Lots of good ones today.)
  • Finished reading Lost in a Good Book. (The Thursday Next series is growing on me.)
  • Provided 'advice' to MoSus. (As I'm not a licensed therapist, I speak only in hypotheticals.)
  • Finished watching Season 2 of The Muppet Show.
  • Cheered the Huskers onto a narrow victory.
8:42 - Got 3 bags of clothes ready to donate to the Goodwill tomorrow. Woot! Organization! Eventually my apartment will live up to my expectations.

8:47 - I truly miss the days when MTV had videos on it.

8:52 - Mark Harmon is the coolest actor of all time. So sayeth Peter Griffin.

8:56 - I wonder how much Britney got paid for her 'performance'?

9:01 - Ivan wants out of the cage something fierce. Yet, he was out for most of the day. Not my fault that he chose to nap while being free.

9:05 - 50-Cent + Timbaland + Justin Timberlake = happy Me.

What is your favorite part about the season of Autumn?

When at home (SD or Nebraska), the answer would be the changing of the colors. It's just beautiful. Now that I live in a part of the country that looks pretty much the same year-round, I would have to say that my favorite part of Autumn is college football. Honestly, does it get any better than watching a Husker game with friends? (Either in person or via the telephone.)

Thursdays are for lists

Especially when you forget your handwritten blog entry on your dining room table. Oops! (Apparently my old age is catching up to me afterall.)

So, with little applause, here's today's list:

13 Things I'm thankful for
  1. Friends who can bake. Especially Becky for the yummy strawberry birthday cake and truffles. And Moe & Jules for the delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. (Hence, the reasoning for today's goal.)
  2. Friends who lunch. Fried food tastes so much better when eaten amongst friends.
  3. Family who call, e-mail, message, etc. It's nice receiving greetings from across the miles.
  4. Friends who send flowers. For the third time in my life, I've received flowers on my birthday. Thanks, MoSus!
  5. Meetings that get canceled. Especially when they are on your birthday.
  6. Books. Just because.
  7. Ferrets who cuddle. Both of them were very friendly last night. And not in that way, perv.
  8. Home-made strawberry cake. It was so good, it needed to be mentioned twice.
  9. Kim Possible marathons. I know, I know, I'm 30. Have no children. I should stop watching The Disney Channel. And stuff. But, that would be admitting I'm old. And I'm not. Yet. 40 is the new old.
  10. MySpace and facebook messages. They just make me Hot.
  11. Coffee. It's a good thing. How Martha of me.
  12. Giggling with my sister over the phone. Who knew that we would eventually get along? Mom was apparently right about something.
  13. Husker football. Most of the game was televised last week. The entire game better be televised this Saturday. And, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be shown next week. (USC game) Go BIG RED!!!

And a new decade begins

Yup. I'm 30.

Here's my two-hour entry for yesterday:

Tuesday, September 4, 2007

5:22 PM - Waiting for the microwave to ding. That will be my cue that my sweet potato has been 'baked' and will be ready to mix with cinnamon, raisins and orange juice in order to make Sweet Potato Puree to go with my Lemon-Caper Chicken for supper. Watching Kathy Griffin openly mock Celine Dion. (There is a god.) Listening to the rain fall outside.

5:47 - Supper goes amazingly quick when you are alone. Trying to avoid eating more of Becky's home-made truffles. They are a-callin' from the kitchen.

5:51 - Random things I accomplished today:
  • Renwed my Louisiana driver license
  • Worked
  • Enjoyed more than a couple truffles
  • Drank too much caffeine
  • Tolerated a bunch of "how's your last day of youth" comments
5:54 - Ivan just figured out that the ferret cage door was open. It's been open since I got home an hour ago. Floyd is oblivious. As usual.

5:57 - Kathy Griffin just dropped her pants on national tv.

6:00 - I really, really need to clean the oven. Maybe this weekend.

6:06 - Hiccups suck.

6:07 - And Floyd has discovered that the ferret cage door is ajar.

6:15 - I.am.full. It looks like Callahan will be with the Huskers until 2011. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. Will report back after the Wake Forest game this weekend.

6:17 - DVDs that were released today that I must own, yet Wal-Mart did not have them in stock when I was there earlier, thus causing me some stress: Season 2-Robot Chicken, Season 3-The Office, Seasons 1&2-It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

6:19 - JaMarcus is truly representing LSU well on the national stage.

6:30 - Tonight's episode of The Simpsons: Bart goes to a rap concert against his parents' wishes, and then fakes his own kidnapping to avoid being grounded.

6:34 - Honestly. I should be taking a walk instead of watching tv.

6:35 - Why is Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? still relevant?

6:43 - Not falling for the old "it looks nice outside, why don't you come out and play" look that is outside of my apartment at the moment. I'm sure it's rather humid.

6:48 - Darn truffles have learned to call my name in unison.

6:51 - Internal debate: Disc 4 of The Muppet Show - Season 2 or book?

6:57 - Rachael Ray annoys me.

6:59 - I will be 30 in about 5 hours.

7:05 - Are there more Dirty Jobs in my future? Mike Rowe is hot.

7:27  - The Delta State Fighting Okra is on The Food Network. Now, there's a sign to turn off the tv and read if I've ever seen one.

29 and holding

About a year ago, my blog entries consisted of a 'typical' two-hour block of my life. As seen by me. While not exciting, it was at least more interesting than a bunch of lists. So, I've decided to continue this trend this week. As it is a week of some significance for me. And stuff.

So here's the first installment.

Monday, September 3, 2007 (Labor Day)

5:37 PM - Watching Anthony Bourdain enjoy a seafood meal in Ireland. Listening to the dishwasher run. Man, it's loud. Texting T about random pizza cravings. Wondering what the 'official' total is for the number of (mara)thons thate were on basic cable today. My 'unofficial' count is 35.

(Suite Life of Zach & Cody; Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; The Closer; Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl; Kyle XY; CSI; CSI: Miami; Dirty Jobs; Little People, Big World; Top Chef; Pasadena; America's Next Top Model; Murder, She Wrote; Dead Like Me; Crocodile Hunter; Age of Love; No Reservations; World Series of Poker; Jerry Lewis Telethon; Reno: 911; The Universe; Beach Patrol; America's Next Producer; Sunset Tan; Dr. 90210; Gunsmoke; Run's House; Design Star; Hell Date; Lockup; Spongebob Squarepants; Rock of Love; Damages; Fast Money MBA Challenge; Star Trek: Enterprise)

5:45 - Anthony, Tony to his friends, is now learning how to make cheese & smoke meat. Comtemplating starting to read Lost in a Good Book, the second book in the Thursday Next series by Fforde. Just finished The Eyre Affair, which I greatly enjoyed. Although, I may like the Nursery Crime Division series more. Time will tell, I guess. Wishing I was able to travel to Yellowstone & the Black Hills this week with my folks.

5:50 - Enjoying a blue raspberry Market Pantry flavored ice pop. Is there anything that Target won't make?

5:52 - Wishing that the apartment complex hadn't moved the dumpster. Oh, well. Trash removal can wait til morning.

5:55 - After reading through my selections on The TV Guide Network, I think I may opt to read for awhile tonight. Although, I may blunder my way flipping through channels, per usual.

6:03 - Does the world really need a movie directed by Ben Affleck?

6:07 - Ryan Secrest truly annoys me. So, here's a random list to distract me from the orange one: 5 Things I did over the long weekend
  1. Lunched & shopped with T.
  2. Bathed & groomed the Jumpin' Husker Ferrets.
  3. Finished reading two books. Both from this list.
  4. Alphabetized my cds & dvds.
  5. Harassmed my loved ones via the telephone.
6:11 - And the official political circus will begin tomorrow in Louisiana. Woo-hoo!

6:13 - Me:On a Diet needs to restart soon. Really, really soon.

6:20 - Need to remember to get chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow's supper. Odds on me remembering: 20-1.

6:22 - Honestly, is Britney really worth $300,000 for one night of work?

6:24 - I Red heart Hugh Laurie! (Note to self: Look into finding one of his books...soon.)

6:28 - Tony is currently elephant watching in Africa.

6:30 - Tonight's episode of The Simpsons: Where Homer & Marge become part owners of Moe's.

6:31 - Homer just mentioned lupper, my favorite meal of the day.

6:36 - I wonder why the Punk is now the Princess?

6:42 - I miss the show Freakazoid.

6:47 - Internal debate: Book vs. How I Met Your Mother rerun. Which will win?

6:52 - What is Marge's favorite food? Buttered noodles, of course.
